WMDA
Aims of the Alliance;
The West Midlands Developers Alliance (WMDA) has been formed to develop and foster relationships with those involved in commercial property development within the West Midlands. This will include liaison with the various local authorities responsible for developing the strategic master plans for the future development within the region and the principle corporate bodies
In addition the Alliance will be used to raise the profile of the West Midlands and all those involved in development
Membership;
Membership is open to all those developers operating within the West Midlands with either head or regional offices established within the area.
The members of the West Midlands Development Alliance recognise the importance of not compromising the commercial activities of the members therefore the Alliance will only be used for exploring and developing strategic issues that are not commercially sensitive.
New members wishing to join the West Midlands Development Alliance will need to be sponsored and seconded by two existing members.
Principle objectives;
These can be summarised under the following headings:-
- Develop an understanding of the various local authorities requirements with regard to both short and long term planning objectives
- Understand the requirements of the various authorities in the West Midlands and how the developers within the region can assist in achieving their objectives
- Develop closer ties with Advantage West Midlands to aid and accelerate discussions on future developments and support that may be available from Advantage West Midlands
- Guest speakers to address meetings which may be from local authorities, planning departments, or high ranking consultants and gain from their experience
- Review where the alliance can play a part at exhibitions and conferences, i.e. MIPIM, MAPIC, etc
- Develop an effective lobbying group where issues of concern exist
